EQ2 - The game that keeps making itself new all over again..

Wow, this came as a surprise. EQ2 is releasing another whole new starting area, race, high level zones, etc. next month. This is truly the only game where one can say there is way too much to do. Echos of Faydwer was the last release which added many cool things to the game like diety worship, engineering. I'm happy in a way, but as a casual player, i still have a 10 page checklist of things I still want to do in this game.

One of the things I love about this game are the new things that keep coming! Yes, the big expansions are great (I'm STILL exploring last year's Echoes of Faydwer expansion; I haven't even touched the new stuff yet!), but I also love all the little things that keep getting tweaked & improved, like new crafted items, etc. They do a very good job at keeping things "fresh" in the game.

As a casual player myself, I think you just need to resign yourself that you're not going to do everything in this game. There's too much! But there's a great menu to choose from!

I would play this great game(i've tested 14day trial) but in sweden there are no game cards to pay with.
And im not allowed to submit creditcard numbers to companies.
And my parents dont want me to play games that cost monthly.
But the little i saw of the game was truly awesome.

EQ2 does have solo roadblocks.. they are even worse on PVP servers. You CAN go from 1-70 solo, but you miss most of the good instances, loot, etc. I stopped playing my PVP toon because of the pvp issues and zoning issues.
I started a char on Antonia Bayle, but never really got anywhere because most guilds there are end-game oriented and I solo'd my way through the game.
Last week I transfered during free transfers to Najena to play with Voltok (of NIMH in SWG) and his guild. THey have lots of mid-ranged alts and I hope to start doing some of the 50-70 group stuff now.
Ammon/Azili, its pretty bad trying to play on Nagafen unless you join a zerg guild (which i refuse). When the new release comes out, I'm up for making new toons with anyone interested on Najena.

IMO EQ2 is the most complete MMORPG out ATM. Its also the most fun. Just has pvp ruleset issues and no player cities.

EQ2 got alot better after they realized they got WTF PWNT by WoW.

I hated my wizard in EQ2, but I did have alot of fun playing a warden and a fury. Pally was also fun. I stopped when they turned PvP into a zone hugging game though.

Currently, I am playing WoW, mostly because I have more fun soloing in WoW then I did in EQ2.

I don't think I will go back anytime soon because I think their "mindset" does not cater to the kind of player that I am as well as WoW does. Both games have massive timesinks, but EQ2 roadblocks the soloist over stupid things and really requires alot of grouping to enjoy most of the content. I play MMO's to solo PvE, guild Raid, and world PvP (usually 1v1). EQ2 is very unfriendly to that combination.

All of that being said, I really loved how beautiful EQ2 was and I always miss that while playing WoW.

Good lordy I miss playing this game. I have thought about activating my account again. When our section one group fizzled out in this game I was heart broken. I can admit I sold out for a while and played WOW...What a CAREBEAR game. I couldn't help that feeling that everytime I signed on to WOW I was about to do 200 Mephisto runs like in Diablo 2 just to get that special armor. *mind numbing!* I tried Vanguard with Ammon briefly and that was a wash out for me. So, now Ammon and I have gone old shool with Shadowbane, but new content in EQ2 sounds interresting. Honestly I should have never left EQ2 in the first place. Sam you might need to drop me a line and give me the QT on EQ2. Both Ammon and I have been wanting to play a game with our guild members again.

Yea god I really hate the island but I'll end up doing it so my friend gets a chance to learn to play the game first and has a happy lil bossy helper. Hehehe

I wanted to start a coercer but really didnt care to do the island and/or starting areas again. I think i've done everything in FP and Qeynos about 15 times now.. and did faydwer once.

Can't help it, *gets all twitchy to return to Everquest2* I like that they keep adding fresh content for both higher level characters and people just starting. More often than not its been the trend with other games that all the expansions and free add ons are for end game players only. I played in Qeynos and Freeport repeatedly so many times it'll be nice for a change up when I return later this month. As soon as my friend gets her new computer she'll be able to finally experience norrath and we'll probably start in one of the new areas so that we'll be on equal ground instead my constant "this way there's a quest here and here and back here' since I kinda know most of them otherwise.

So many people talk bad about SOE because of SWG. Which is sad they'll always blame SOE for something that happened in an IP they have had such minor control over. (completely random rant there)
