If a mind is a terrible thing to waste, and a PC is a mechanical mind, then it's good to know that your mind isn't wasted.

It was a long day, but in the end, it was a good day. And all because you got some gaming in.

Guild Wars 2 (PC) | Anticipating

"The original Guild Wars game was beautiful, interesting and somewhat unique. Add in persistent servers, more levels, deeper PvE content, and the ability to JUMP....and I'll be checking it out for sure"

World of Warcraft (PC-MAC)

"I've come back to this game several times from its launch to the present. It can be fun but also repetitive and grindy. Currently my main game ATM. "

Server: Malfurion

Guild: What Would Thrall Do

Characters:

Evalina, Level 80 Blood Elf Hunter — Huntard 4 life

Evalina, Level 80 Blood Elf Hunter —

Serenissimoo, —

Guild Wars (PC)

"While PvP has never been my primary interest in an MMORPG, this game has an appealing aesthetic, and was fun on the short term. Great dance emotes as well."

Everquest II (PC)

"I've played this game since beta with several breaks here and there. Last year I made a fresh start on Najena, but the second honeymoon didn't last long. This is a doomed game, sadly."

Server: Permafrost, Najena

Guild: Fires of Heaven, Second Dawn

Characters:

Aetheryn, Level 70 Wood Elf Illusionist — My new main in my new home. Illusionist is a relatively easy class to learn, but tough to master.

Mystique/Bacchanalia, Half Elf Mystic — My former main character, my first to 70 and the first Mystic to 70 WW (yeah, woop de doo). I knew and played Mystic very well, and tried to be active and informative in the community. Too bad the class will probably always be broken and ultimately bland. I've since betrayed to Defiler, but being that this character is now an alt, haven't had the chance to play much.

Tappi Tikarrass, Ratonga Assassin — My first alt to hit 70. Tappi was a lot of fun to play, but sadly I never really got to raid much with her. This is one of my favorite names I've used in any MMO.

City of Villains (PC)

"Very similar to CoH, of course, but it has its own style. A fun game to pick back up here and there when the "deep" games start to burn you out."

City of Heroes (PC)

"Played this several times off and on since its release, both casual and more serious. There is definitely fun to be had in this game, but it never held my attention like the more traditional MMOG's."

Server: Victory

Characters:

Teir'Dal Monk, Level 37 Magic Scrapper — DM/regen FTW!

Aion: The Tower of Eternity (PC)

"I'm keeping my eye on this game. From what I've seen thus far, combat looks exciting, and the classes have flare and distinction. And let's not forget....wings!"

Anarchy Online (PC)

"Great game in all. Complicated, vast, skill rewarding, and best of all, you can kill mobs called "Leets". If they'd update their graphics engine, I'd never have stopped playing."

Server: Atlantean

Characters & Screen Names: Kyuuketsuki, Akasha, Leetloo, Eloora
Chronicles of Spellborn

"This game looks interesting and refreshing. Teaming up with the band Within Temptation certainly doesn't hurt its appeal."

Everquest (PC)

"My first MMORPG. I had a lot of good times with a lot of good people. The game had its moment in the sun, and it has passed. You can never go home again."

Server: Xev

Guild: Order of Draconis

Characters & Screen Names: Eloora Libra
Lord of the Rings Online (PC)

"It's slow to get into in the beginning, but of course the lore and scenarios are a big draw. The classes are rather lackluster compared to similar ones in other games. The crafting system is terrible. Not a hardcore/long-term kind of game."

Server: Windfola

Characters:

Tchotchke, Level 40 Hobbit Burglar — I sneak! I stab! I snack!

Q. What is your first computer or video gaming memory? (Answer!)
A. Diablo II, baby!

Q. How do you feel about playing characters of the opposite sex? (Answer!)
A. As a female, and as most female players would likely agree, I prefer playing female characters. I have no desire to play a male, the way I joke around and interact would only make me look "gay" I'm sure, lol.

Q. Do you use voice chat? (Answer!)
A. Yes, but I prefer to just listen

Q. How many hours a week do you play? (Answer!)
A. 40+

Q. What is the most overlooked or misunderstood game? (Answer!)
A. Anarchy Online, for sure. If more players could get past the dated graphics and difficult learning curve (or if these were ever updated/alleviated) this game would really shine. The community is one of the best I've ever seen, and they have the best MMOG radio station EVER, Gridstream Productions.

Q. Ninjas or pirates? (Answer!)
A. Why isn't there a multiclass option?

Q. Where did you get your gaming names from? (Answer!)
A. Oh, boy. I take a lot of pride in the names I use in online games, and my inspiration comes from many sources: Literature, mythology, religion, foreign languages (especially Latin, Greek, German and Italian), even floor mats! My fascination with words and language leads me to amass quite a collection of potential names, and I keep them in a notebook for future use. Some of my friends complain that my names are too long! I am not afraid to bust out 4 or more syllables, and hard to type/say letter combinations!

Q. What music do you like to play games to? (Answer!)
A. I play a variety of genres of music whlie I play games, but usually either rock/metal or electronic/dance music.. Most recently some of my favorite types of music to game to have been Drum & Bass, and Future Synthpop. It's gotta have a good beat to get me 'in the mode'!

Q. What are your thoughts on player-made mods/addons for games? (Answer!)
A. I am a UI mod junky - I think they're fantastic. I'd be hopeless without a tweaked version of just about every element of the default UI. No matter what game it is, if modding is allowed, it will be done, and I'll be anxious to download the latest and best!

Q. What is a feature you would like added to GamerDNA? (Answer!)
A. The ability to chat with your online guild members of a given game directly from the Guild Cafe website.

Q. When you are not playing games, what do you do for fun? (Answer!)
A. Tuesday downtime is the worst! Usually I'll end up chatting with friends, surfing the interwebs, or updating my gamerDNA page ;).

Q. Other than your console or PC, what is the piece of hardware you can't live without? (Answer!)
A. Wouldn't you like to know!

Q. What do your characters and avatars usually look like? (Answer!)
A. Well they are always female, of course, but I wouldn't say they always resemble myself. Other than that, depending on the customizability of a given character, I tend toward either white or red hair, and usually long, although I find myself drawn to a really phat mohawk if one's available! Once that's done, I go with a skin tone of the opposite luminosity (dark hair, light skin, etc.). The faces are usually attractive. I tend to avoid overly smiley or frowny expressions and childish features. Accessories are usually kept to a minimum.

Q. What are your thoughts on roleplaying in games? (Answer!)
A. Usually it's not my thing, but I won't begrudge anyone else from enjoying it. Occaisionally I like to sort of emote-RP with people for amusement, but other than that I'm a little too lazy and forgetful to muster a RP personality most of the time :P.

Q. Have you ever had a romantic encounter with someone you met in a game? (Answer!)
A. I met my fiance before I ever touched an online game, so that's a definite no. I might joke around and pretend flirt with someone for a laugh, though.

Q. Do you feel relationships within games are meaningful? (Answer!)
A. I guess that depends on the individuals involved. I have many people I would call friends who I have never met in real life, but I wouldn't call these relationships meaningful. YMMV, I guess.
