Q. What is your first computer or video gaming memory? (Answer!)
A. In arcades, probably playing Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles or X-Men, both of which I've completed (/flex). The first game I played on a PC, aside from Solitare was this game called Lode Runner, and I beat that to the ground too!
Q. How do you feel about playing characters of the opposite sex? (Answer!)
A. I never do it. Don't get me started on why I think other people do.
Q. When you are not playing games, what do you do for fun? (Answer!)
A. Hang out with friends, go to school and do school work, guitar, read, horse stuff, arts and crafts stuff (yeah I know...haha...), date as part of a never-ending quest to find a boyfriend, go to bars if there's good live music, travel if I can, numismatics, collect werid things, I don't know...stuff. Oh! Movies, I like those too. And some TV, I'm in love with The Office.
Q. What music do you like to play games to? (Answer!)
A. The music the game plays, only really softly. Normally I'm in a Ventrillo so I don't listen too music. If I'm not, I normally end up 1/2 watching TV while I play instead of listening to music.
Q. Do you feel relationships within games are meaningful? (Answer!)
A. Depends. Some are, some aren't. Basically I think it's like real life... you meet people, sometimes it's meaningful, sometimes it's not. I know I've had and have meaningful relationships with people I met in games. But it's like 2% of all of the people I've met in games.
Q. Have you ever had a memorable real-life meeting with other gamers? (Answer!)
A. Yep. It involved crab poop.
Q. How do you feel about selling virtual items for real money? (Do NOT advertise RMT services!) (Answer!)
A. Don't care, what people spend their money on is their business. It does bother me though when a company invests considerable effort in trying to keep this sort of activity from happening. I don't think it's possible to stop, and I'd rather them be fixing bugs and making expansions.
Q. If you made your own game, what would it be like? (Answer!)
Q. What are your most memorable achievements in a game? (Answer!)
A. DAoC, 1st house, 1st RR5, joining Roisin Dubh
Q. What do you love or hate about PVP? (Answer!)
A. I love how fun it is, I hate how seriously people take it.
Q. What is the most overlooked or misunderstood game? (Answer!)
A. I would have to say the most misunderstood game is Minesweeper. People just randomly click on the boxes and don't really know how to play.
Q. Why do you join guilds or clans? (Answer!)
Q. When do you play, including timezone? (Answer!)
A. Eastern, normally late afternoon and night.
Q. What sort of players annoy you the most? (Answer!)
Q. Have you ever had a romantic encounter with someone you met in a game? (Answer!)
A. Hmm...yes? It wasn't really an in-game relationship though. I prefer to think of it as in-life. I left her in Monterey though, sigh.
Q. What are your thoughts on roleplaying in games? (Answer!)
A. Sometimes I'm too cynical for it, but it's great fun if you're a roleplayer I'd imagine. I always pick roleplaying servers because the people are nicer. Way nicer.
Q. Other than your console or PC, what is the piece of hardware you can't live without? (Answer!)
Q. If you could meet any game developer, who would it be? (Answer!)
A. I can't even name a game developer....
Q. What is the most memorable flamewar you can remember? (Answer!)
A. I don't participate in flamewars. What's the point in getting so worked up over games? I think I have like 3 posts on the VN boards?
Q. What are your favorite tabletop (RPG, board, miniatures, etc.) games? (Answer!)
A. Candyland is a big one for me... When I was little, I'd stack the deck... I'd opt to go second, after putting Professor Plum on top, and Queen Frostine right under it. So the person who goes first draws Professor Plum and is like, "Alright, good first move!" (so they don't suspect anything), then I'd draw Queen Frostine and basically move to the end of the board. Sometimes it would backfire though.. If I ended up drawing the Jolly card afterwards I could easily get stuck in his bastard Gooey Gumdrops...
Q. What are the specs on your gaming rig? (Answer!)
A. Umm, the most awesomest... duh.
