Dungeon Runners (PC)

"This is a great little game to play when your others games are having patch day. No montly fee!"

Characters & Screen Names: Colewin
Dungeon Siege I (PC)

"I picked up this game the day I got laid off at one of my former jobs and played from 3pm to 7am the next day and barely noticed the time shift. Very engrossing and thouroughly fun! Even though this game is somewhat dated it is still very playable "

Characters & Screen Names: Brelvin
Everquest (PC)

"Oddly I came to this game after EQ2 and play it on occasion to enjoy some of the lore and just having some idea of what people are talking about when they reflect on this one."

Server: MIthaniel Marr

Characters:

Colewin, — Guessing I am doing this backwards as an EQ2 player but dabble in and enjoy EQ 1 sometimes too.

Everquest II (PC)

"I love Everquest 2 it joins Shadowbane as my all time favorite MMO!"

Server: Butcherblock

Guild: Skara Brae

Characters & Screen Names: Colewin
Guild Wars (PC)

"This game is not bad and who does not love not having a montly fee. Still it lacks the kind of depth that would bring me back very often."

Guild: Skara Brae

Characters:

Colewin Graystar, Warrior — Level 10 Warrior Monk

Lord of the Rings Online (PC)

"This one was on sale so I figuired I would squeeze it in for at least the first 30 days included with the low cost purchase price. So far so good not as complex or as fun as EQ2 but still a nice game."

Server: Vilya

Characters:

Colewin Graystar, Level 13 Race of Man Captain —

Matrix Online (PC)

"This game is a little hard to stick with or get a real feel for. It does look nice and is good for occasional fun. Lots of running around inside buildings so far."

Characters:

Amberblade, — I still don't quite get this game but it is an occasional diversion.

Shadowbane (PC-MAC)

"This is the Game that really stuck with me and even though I rarely play it now it will always be the one that really stands out as the best PVP game to date. I could go on for ages about what I loved about the game."

Guild: Skara Brae

Characters & Screen Names: Brelvin
Star Wars Galaxies (PC)

"I have crafter and a Jedi in this game and have found crafting to be not as fun as in other games but being a Jedi is ok but also a bit of an obvious move. I love Star Wars so have to play on occasion."

Server: Bloodfin

Characters:

Koshn Graystar, Level 8 Zabrak Jedi — I pop in and play this every now and then, I also have a crafting toon on another server.

Travian

"Fantastic little browser based MMO. This on really capture that level of quick fun you could achieve on the old BBS door games. I tried some of the cloans like Tribal Wars yet found Travian to be the very best of this genre. "

Server: Server 3

Guild: SB-BT (Skara Brae)

Ultima Online (PC)

"I loved this game but at the time, especially the crafting."

Server: Lake Austin

Characters & Screen Names: Brelvin
World of Warcraft (PC-MAC)

"Great game but too many youngsters and foul mouthed people in the community at that time. Still I have fond memmories of my month in that game."

Server: Silvermoon

Characters & Screen Names: MikesterBrau

Q. What are your thoughts on roleplaying in games? (Answer!)
A. I don't get into it with online games but used to do some with pen and paper games. Not sure why the feeling does not carry over from the real world to online but that is just the way it is for me.

Q. What sort of tools (calculators, builders, spreadsheets, etc.) do you use to plan your characters? (Answer!)
A. I really do not use anything other than past experience to build toons.

Q. How do you feel about playing characters of the opposite sex? (Answer!)
A. I have no problem with it at all, after all the whole experience is about being something you are not for the most part doing things you might never do in real life. Have fun enjoy!

Q. What are the specs on your gaming rig? (Answer!)
A. P4 2.5 Ghz, Ati Radeon 9800 Pro (AGP), 1 GB ram, SCSI HD and DVD along with ATA 100 HD. 19 inch Viewsonic CRT.

Q. Are you interested in working within the game industry? (Answer!)
A. Someday perhaps. For now I am financially dependant on a steady paycheck but if I had a bit more savings I would probably jump right in and take the plunge.

Q. When do you play, including timezone? (Answer!)
A. I mostly play EQ2 from 7:30-10PM CST T,Th-Su and a 8:30AM to 1PM CST Sat/Sun. Other games I squeeze in as time allows but these day EQ2 is hitting on all cylinders so it dominates my play.

Q. If you could cancel any online game, which would it be? (Answer!)
A. There have been several times in the last year where I would have been very tempted to say Vanguard but they have improved it a great deal so now I would point the shutdown hammer at Planetside or maybe Horizons.

Q. Beside GamerDNA, what are your favorite websites? (Answer!)
A. everquest2.gameamp.com
www.bardstavern.net
hurikhan.blogspot.com
www.thebrasse.com
www.everquest2.com
www.beckett.com

Q. What do you love or hate about PVP? (Answer!)
A. I do enjoy the challenge of PVP but hate the side it brings out in people. Win or Lose some people have to go on and on about it etc. and I have seen it bring out both the bully sid and the whiney side in a lot of folks.

Q. Other than your console or PC, what is the piece of hardware you can't live without? (Answer!)
A. Television of course, that is if I understand the question correctly.

Q. How many hours a week do you play? (Answer!)
A. Probably 30+

Q. If you made your own game, what would it be like? (Answer!)
A. It would probably be very much like Shadowbane but with some accomodations to real life and not as opeb PVP. I would have it where guild members could not attack each other without the guild leadership setting another guilds or faction as attackable or until that guild declared you as a target. Also you would have some safe areas in your town unless a bane was active or something along the lines of a state of war was declared. As much as some might cringe at this from a revenue stand point a non pvp version of shadowbane may have been viable as the city building was a good task in and of itself.

Q. Do you use voice chat? (Answer!)
A. On occasion. A lot of mixed feelings about this one.

Q. Have you ever had a memorable real-life meeting with other gamers? (Answer!)
A. OH yes it was awesome when I got to meet some of my real life guildmates when they passed through my part the country on a family vacation.

Q. Do you feel relationships within games are meaningful? (Answer!)
A. Without any doubt, I have made some great friends in game and sites like this help make the relationships laster longer and take on greater meaning.

Q. Why do you join guilds or clans? (Answer!)
A. I do enjoy the chance to learn new ways or playing and to test myself. I believe most folks have something to offer and something to be learned. Even new players have a way of energizing and old timers enjoyment of the game and to recall was great when I started a particular game.

Q. In real life, are you male or female? (Answer!)
A. Male

Q. What is your first computer or video gaming memory? (Answer!)
A. Trek on an IBM mid range computer sometime in the mid to late 70's. I was at a friends house whose father worked for IBM. The game was a very simple grid with an e for the enterprise and k for a klingon.

Q. What is the most memorable flamewar you can remember? (Answer!)
A. Well in Fidonet BBS store and forward network in which the message base was hacked and some authors names were hacked to some unflattering names. The host bbs was called No carrier.

Q. Do your quiz results on GamerDNA reflect your personality, and if not, what did it get wrong? (Answer!)
A. Yes it was pretty accurate.

Q. If you could bring any book, movie or comic to life in a game, which would you choose? (Answer!)
A. Dragon Lance!

Q. Have you ever had a romantic encounter with someone you met in a game? (Answer!)
A. not exactly, I knew her in real life first and it was the old trap of romance with a co worker. At least she did not work in the same department.

Q. What are your favorite tabletop (RPG, board, miniatures, etc.) games? (Answer!)
A. In The Labrynth by Metagaming which later was reimagined by Steve Jackson as GURPS.

Q. What are your most memorable achievements in a game? (Answer!)
A. Building our Guild City in Shadowbane.

Q. What is a feature you would like added to GamerDNA? (Answer!)
A. None come to mind right now.

Q. What is the most overlooked or misunderstood game? (Answer!)
A. Shadowbane

Q. If you could meet any game developer, who would it be? (Answer!)
A. The folks behind Shadowbane though Richard Garriott is a close second.

Q. What are your thoughts on player-made mods/addons for games? (Answer!)
A. not a fan most of the time but some are spectacular.

Q. Ninjas or pirates? (Answer!)
A. I prefer to rise above such debates

Q. What music do you like to play games to? (Answer!)
A. Classic Metal most of the time or 80's stuff.

Q. How do you feel about selling virtual items for real money? (Do NOT advertise RMT services!) (Answer!)
A. I am opposed to these I think they are a very bad thing for players and the industry.

Q. When you are not playing games, what do you do for fun? (Answer!)
A. I have some favorite TV shows, books, movies and of course time with real life friends.

Q. What experience do you have beta-testing games? (Answer!)
A. nothing significant.

Q. Where did you get your gaming names from? (Answer!)
A. Books, real life, and past pen and paper toons.

Q. What mods do you play with? (Answer!)
A. none atm

Q. What are the proper uses of tank guns and bubblegum? (Answer!)
A. no idea

Q. What sort of players annoy you the most? (Answer!)
A. spammers and whiners.

Q. What question would you add to the Attitudes system? (Answer!)
A. none at this time.

Q. What do your characters and avatars usually look like? (Answer!)
A. I try to have them match the toon which at times is a reflection of myself. I try to make them realistic per se and not perfect.
