A. I think that in many cases, it takes away from the over-all experience of the game. It makes it so that you don't really have to try. Also, it gives an edge to people who can afford to buy items, and penalizes the others.

A. They are usually female and have ponytails a lot of the time.

A. Don't really use anything, except for in D&D, we use a character sheet, dice, a pencil, and the Players :)
