Games (Liked and Anticipated)

Fallout 3 (PC)

"Debating to get this for 360 or for PC (actually my Mac). PC is cheaper and likely better looking/playing. I can't wait, but I'll wait a few weeks likely. "

Super Mario Bros. 3 (NES)

"I remember the shear excitement at getting this game. My dad took me to get it and I was jumping around and loving life. First game I'd gotten on release day I think. The real start of Mario greatness"

Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King (PS2)

"Didn't have quite the same vibe as NES Dragon Quest/Warrior games, but still pretty fun. "

Betrayal at Krondor (PC)

"One of the coolest RPGs ever. Got me into reading the epic RE Feist stuff too. Amazing story, epic music, and graphics/animation so ahead of its time. Imperfect, but amazing. "

Quake III: Team Arena (PC)

"I played this a bit, but never as much as Q1 or Q2. Good game, but felt a lot different and more bulky. "

Quake II (PC)

"This refined a lot of the multiplayer options, but always felt slower and more bogged down. Better CTF mods. Many hours of fun. "

DDRMAX2: Dance Dance Revolution (PS2)

"Should I admit to owning/loving this game? Rockband is cool, but this is still a killer game. SUPER hard at times and a real workout. Fun for all. "

Final Fantasy XII (PS2)

"Take FF insert WoW/MMORPG style grind. Remove control of individual characters, and dillute the plot to something that you almost forget about and center it in one city. And here you go! Good, but meh"

Portal (PC)

"The cake is a lie. The companion cube is my only friend. Best game of the year. Best puzzle game between Myst/7th guest and Braid. "

Final Fantasy X

"This was a nice game! Not quite as stunning as some of the prior, but definitely a high point. Got 3d stuff much more right, and the story felt good, with killer music and heartfelt characters. "

Final Fantasy VII (PC)

"Played on PC. Wow. Amazing. Didn't like some parts as well as FF3. The "new" 3d thing was great at the time but feels dated now, unlike FF3. Great minigames and depth. Too grindy at times. "

Final Fantasy III (SNES)

"This FF really got "tone" down along with length and depth. A very intense game. Didn't quite have the same impact as FF7 emotionally, but unforgetable things like Opera house still. "

Final Fantasy II (SNES)

"This was the first J-RPG that I really loved. Killer music and graphic design. Very hard at the time. "

Final Fantasy (NES)

"Great game. Didn't beat it, but it rocked. I used to have a bad habit for not getting through games. They used to be harder prior to Google!"

Fable II

"Got it. Beat it. Too easy. Too short. Horrid co-op play. Many bugs. Cool vibe. Forgettable music. Fun, but imperfect. Overrated. Selling and getting Fallout 3 instead"

Myst (MAC)

"For whatever reason I wasn't ever able to completely play Myst because it hated my PC at the time, so we returned it sadly. What i have played was amazing. All hypercard? Wow. "

The 11th Hour [DOS] (PC)

"I loved this game. Some of the puzzles could have been better, but I loved the music, the darkness and the overall vibe. So great at the time. It literally blew me away. "

The 7th Guest (PC)

"This was one of my first CD games. Anticipated first for the SNES expansion that failed and became the Playstation. Played on PC instead. It didn't like my computer though :("

The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past (SNES)

"This was a perfect game. Fun plot, challenging puzzles, great graphics and perfect pacing. Amazing. Timeless. The best. "

The Legend of Zelda [Classic NES Series] (GBA)

"I should admit that I didn't beat this game until about 5 years after it came out. Great game. Spurred so much imagination. "

Metroid II (GB)

"I honestly didn't get as much into Metriod I. For some reason playing this on my friend's GB really got me best into the series. Maybe it was the small refinements or something, but this game rocked"

Out of This World (SNES)

"This game was HARD, but very cool. Graphics and style ahead of its time. "

Ultima III: Exodus (C64)

"This was the first Ultima game I played. I played it on NES then C64, which was kinda backwards. "

Alone in the Dark 4

"The only thing scary about this game is how bad it is. "

Anarchy Online (PC)

"I played the beta of this. Neat concept, but seemed like poor execution at the time. "

Asheron's Call (PC)

"I played the beta of this. It had some neat ideas, but just didn't grab me and I went back to UO"

Baldur's Gate (PC)

"BG and all of its sequels were simply amazing. It really was the closest thing to playing D&D that I've done on a computer. "

Bioshock (PC)

"I played the demo of the game (rather great for a demo). I'd like to get the full version now that I have a decent system. It was on Steam the other day for $20. Missed that sale :("

Braid (X360)

"This the best puzzle game ever. "

Descent (MAC)

"This was a killer game. Very disorienting, but it gave people reason to have all these weird 3d controllers and even VR headsets at the time. Not many games like it today it seems. "

Diablo II (PC)

"I really liked D2. My main complaints were that it got too "grindy" after a while and became too much of the same thing. Looking forward to D3. "

Dungeon Runners (PC)

"I won this game the other week through a GamerDNA in-office thing. I haven't had a chance to do more than sign up for an account and install the software, but I can't wait!"

Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved 2 (X360)

"I just played this for the first time at the office the other day. This game is so simple, but amazing and insanely fun. Hard to keep track of visually, but stunning."

Grand Theft Auto IV (X360)

"I'm having a great time with this game. I have yet to play online and don't have an Xbox live account to update my status with. I've gotten about 30% completed. I feel that I've done most of the interesting non-mission things, although I know there i"

Half-Life 2 (PC)

"This game wasn't as captivating to me as it should have been. I remember playing through the original HL and it was pretty good, but nothing groundbreaking oddly enough for me. HL2 was nice and fun but honestly I never finished it. I'll reinstall it "

Mario Kart Wii

"Neat Game"

Meridian 59

"I played the alpha/beta testing stages but never beyond that. The first graphical MMORPG this was really groundbreaking. It was hard and a bit boring at times, but I enjoyed anyway. "

Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots (PS3)

"This game is simply amazing. I just bought it the other day and have only gotten a chance to play once. It was going to be the reason for me to buy a PS3, but I have access to one at work instead ;) The graphics are simply perfect. Play control is b"

Nethack

"This is the granddaddy of GPA killing games. Absolute perfection"

Quake (MAC)

"I'm trying to get this running in Leopard. Needs a bit of hacking. This is still one of the fastest/best tuned FPS games ever. "

Realm Online

"I played The Realm through the Alpha and Beta test stages and for a month or two on the public servers afterwards. It and Meridian 59 were some of the first MMORPGs and the first that I played asides from MUDs. The Realm was great, limited in an exce"

Rock Band (X360)

"First started in 2007 when Harmonix gave the betahouse a set. Even as a musician I will say that this game is simply perfect. I can't wait to try out RB2 and get on the drumkit. Try singing and drums!"

Second Life (PC)

"Not really a "game" but a virtual world. I keep Eric Rosedale's (CEO's) card on my desk from when I met him. Fun experience, but always kinda 'weird' in some places. Slow/buggy still. "

Ultima Online (PC)

"I played the beta of this game and played for a bit during the release over a few years. When most of the development team left the game kinda fizzled out for me and stopped being fun. It ended up bein"

Guild: Halls of Linsine

Unreal Tournament (PC)

"UT was the primary game during my freshmen year of college for an FPS. Fast, fun and easy to teach to others. Even my gf at the time got into it a bit. "

Wing Commander

"I played Wing Commander I, II, III, IV and Privateer. Privateer was by far the best. The later ones got bogged down with bad acting and convoluted plots along with bugs. Holding hope for the future. "

World of Warcraft (PC-MAC)

"One of my friends gave me his account that has a few lvl 60+ characters. Also starting my own. I haven't played for much time, so I'm still basically a n00b. I am looking for a Guild. "

Server: argent dawn

Azre, Level 70 Undead Warlock —

Pugnii, Level 70 Undead Rogue —

"This game is loaded almost nonstop into my C64 that is hooked up to my HDTV. Yes, you read that right. "

Q. What are your favorite tabletop (RPG, board, miniatures, etc.) games? (Answer!)
A. I prefer AD&D second edition with the Player's Options books. Yes, it was borderline on "too much math" but come on, we're all geeks anyway. AD&D v4 bothers me. Too simple, too powerful.

Q. If you made your own game, what would it be like? (Answer!)
A. I've debated on making an overly realistic game. I had plans for one for the longest time, but I feel now that perhaps that isn't the best way to go. People don't want to live real lives. Well except in Second Life, but real people can't fly or teleport either,.

Q. Do your quiz results on GamerDNA reflect your personality, and if not, what did it get wrong? (Answer!)
A. No, the quiz results on GamerDNA got things right though ;)

Q. What do your characters and avatars usually look like? (Answer!)
A. Generally thin, small, fast and nimble. I don't generally wear flashy things if I have an option and go for darker colors and suprising enemies.

Q. What are the specs on your gaming rig? (Answer!)
A. Playstation 2, Playstation 3 (work), Xbox 360 (work), Wii (work), 17" Macbook Pro 2.5ghz 4gb 512 video, 15" Macbook Pro 2.2ghz 4gb 128mb video. Pentium 4 3.0ghz 2gb 256mb video.

Q. What are the proper uses of tank guns and bubblegum? (Answer!)
A. Err? Shooting and chewing?

Q. Do you use voice chat? (Answer!)
A. Yes, but only when absolutely needed

Q. Other than your console or PC, what is the piece of hardware you can't live without? (Answer!)
A. A good keyboard (Unicomp on my desk), a killer set of speakers, and a Moog Voyager.

Q. Why do you join guilds or clans? (Answer!)
A. I generally don't really. At best I do so in order to explore dungeons with people consistently and not constantly sit around LFG.

Q. How do you feel about selling virtual items for real money? (Do NOT advertise RMT services!) (Answer!)
A. Seems fair. Seems a bit silly too. I dislike gold farmers. I wish that I could PvP all gold farmers.
