Q. Do you use voice chat? (Answer!)
A. Yes, and I have a microphone

Q. How do you feel about playing characters of the opposite sex? (Answer!)
A. Personally, it's not my style unless required for the class, but otherwise I am indifferent as to how others play.

Q. What sort of players annoy you the most? (Answer!)
A. The sort that feel it is necessary to let you know every time they do anything. I don't mind if it is an impressive accomplishment, but I don't care if you just hit level 10 on your third alt. These guys are just a bit more annoying than those that love to show off their 'leet' gear which definitely was not earned as a result of their 'skills.'

Q. Are you interested in working within the game industry? (Answer!)
A. Not expressly, because it does not really relate to my area of study. However, I enjoy BETA testing, and could see how employment in the industry would be very satisfying.

Q. What do you love or hate about PVP? (Answer!)
A. I love the skill and thrill required o face off against other players. Another plus is the ever-changing landscape of the conflict. In PvP you never play the same game twice. On the downside, I hate those that gank/grief people that are significantly lower in power than themselves, and then later brag about how great their skill is.

Q. Beside GamerDNA, what are your favorite websites? (Answer!)
A. I frequent the forums of the various games I play. I also check in at MMORP from time to time.

Q. Have you ever had a memorable real-life meeting with other gamers? (Answer!)
A. I used to game with my roommates, and would occasionally run into other gamers while on campus.

Q. Ninjas or pirates? (Answer!)
A. Ninjas

Q. Why do you join guilds or clans? (Answer!)
A. I join for a couple reasons: for the joy of making new friends, to play otherwise unplayable content that requires a large party, and to play with individuals that know how to play their class.

Q. What are your favorite tabletop (RPG, board, miniatures, etc.) games? (Answer!)
A. My favorite RPGs were the wave that came out for Super Nintendo: Final Fantasy (NES), Final Fantasy II, Final Fantasy III, Chronotrigger, Chronocross, Secret of Mana, etc.

Q. When do you play, including timezone? (Answer!)
A. During the week: Afternoon through the early morning Weekends: Depends, but generally quite a bit

Q. Other than your console or PC, what is the piece of hardware you can't live without? (Answer!)
A. Cell Phone, I feel naked without it.

Q. What are your most memorable achievements in a game? (Answer!)
A. My favorite memory was the incredible success of my tribe in LOTRO PvMP. I like to think a lot of people had a much more positive experience as a result of joining the group. Another one of my most memorable in-game moment was beating a well known PvP Guild with a random PUG in Guild Wars.

Q. What are your thoughts on roleplaying in games? (Answer!)
A. While I personally do not roleplay, I love sharing games with roleplayers. Benefits of being around them include: lore appropriate names, more mature (older) gamers, and a general higher quality of player.

Q. If you could cancel any online game, which would it be? (Answer!)
A. Not my place, if people will pay for it - then they must think it's worthwhile.

Q. What is your first computer or video gaming memory? (Answer!)
A. My first memory is playing with my aunt and uncles Atari.

Q. What mods do you play with? (Answer!)
A. None, I prefer to play as is.

Q. What is the most memorable flamewar you can remember? (Answer!)
A. I tend to stay away from them. I have seen some amusing exchanges on the LOTRO PvMP forums though.

Q. What are your thoughts on player-made mods/addons for games? (Answer!)
A. If they feel they need a crutch...then who am I to stop them.

Q. What experience do you have beta-testing games? (Answer!)
A. I have beta-tested MANY MMOs, and continue to do so.

Q. How do you feel about selling virtual items for real money? (Do NOT advertise RMT services!) (Answer!)
A. I don't do it, but I understand why people do it.

Q. What sort of tools (calculators, builders, spreadsheets, etc.) do you use to plan your characters? (Answer!)
A. This definitely depends on the game. Honestly, it's not normally a huge factor for me.

Q. If you could bring any book, movie or comic to life in a game, which would you choose? (Answer!)
A. I missed out on Final Fantasy XI, and would love to play an new Final Fantasy MMO.

Q. What question would you add to the Attitudes system? (Answer!)
A. How do you feel about Power-leveling?

Q. What are the specs on your gaming rig? (Answer!)
A. Ancient...I am in the process of building a new one.

Q. If you made your own game, what would it be like? (Answer!)
A. I would take the best elements of all my favorite MMOs - Realm v. Realm Combat, Public Quests, Extreme Character customization, a very in depth crafting system (more so than most modern MMOs), penalties for dying (though not as extreme as corpse runs), and a high level of challenge that forces the community to join together.

Q. What do your characters and avatars usually look like? (Answer!)
A. It depends on the game, but I like to make them somewhat unique and representative of their class.

Q. What are the proper uses of tank guns and bubblegum? (Answer!)
A. Set the tank just behind an obstruction, and the bubblegum out as bait.

Q. In real life, are you male or female? (Answer!)
A. Male

Q. Have you ever had a romantic encounter with someone you met in a game? (Answer!)
A. Um, can't say I have...unless you count that one time.

Q. When you are not playing games, what do you do for fun? (Answer!)
A. I am a like to read and teach music in my spare time.

Q. What is a feature you would like added to GamerDNA? (Answer!)
A. I can't think of anything at present.

Q. How many hours a week do you play? (Answer!)
A. 20-40

Q. If you could meet any game developer, who would it be? (Answer!)
A. To me, Will Wright seems like he would be a very interesting person to meet.

Q. Do you feel relationships within games are meaningful? (Answer!)
A. Given enough time, I feel those interactions can become very powerful for some people. Of course, they are much more meaningful if you know the person in real life, or if you have been playing together for an extended period of time.

Q. Where did you get your gaming names from? (Answer!)
A. Honestly, I do some brainstorming based on the character, but they are largely influenced either by mythology or modification of words I find aesthetically pleasing.

Q. What is the most overlooked or misunderstood game? (Answer!)
A. One of the rare gems I found by accident was a platform game called Kingdom Hearts. I honestly played it on a whim, and could not believe how much fun it was.

Q. What music do you like to play games to? (Answer!)
A. It depends on what I am doing, but I prefer 70s rock,, though I also like to PvP to heavier alternative.

Q. Do your quiz results on GamerDNA reflect your personality, and if not, what did it get wrong? (Answer!)
A. They were good, but many individuals (including myself) find it difficult to fill out such quizzes without contemplating the answer's affect on the results. Though I know the trend is against longer quizzes, but duplicate (though differently worded) asking of questions with the same points might yield more accurate results.
