Message Of The Day from Imran
-- "Compare & Contrast"
This week, Sanya posts some information comparing the launches of some big MMOs and even exposes some valuable details behind the gamers that play them.
Or you can look at this and see they're finally getting around to patching the bugs. I've got a long and, well, ambivalent relationship with SWG but I do have to give the current dev team props for trying really hard to fix what they can. The real issue is so deeprooted at this point I doubt it can be fixed and it would take an essay that's far too long to go into it. But what's good about SWG still hasn't been replicated anywhere else. And that too is another long essay for another time.

Another chapter in the sad story that is SWG. With some luck, someone else can come along and make a Star Wars MMO that the people deserve. Unfortunately, Sony tried to milk a cash cow with steel gloves, and got nothing but wet, skin-shredded gloves back as a result, not fistfuls of cash.
Reading the stuff about the star destroyer sparked interest, but when you read those patch notes, it's amazingly incredible that the game is still completely riddled with such minor bugs where we have 3 pages of nothing but tweaks that should have been correctly shortly after a game launch.. unfortunately, we're closing in on 5 years.. so imo it's just more unacceptable trash from SWG.
