Guild Wars players go online to take the roles of wizards and warriors in a medieval fantasy world, where they'll battle and adventure on their own, cooperatively, or — as the title suggests — in guild warfare against teams of other players. The game world is home to a once-proud kingdom, which has recently been overrun by the forces of evil and chaos. Available player professions include warriors, rangers, monks, mesmers, elementalists, and necromancers, and players are encouraged to choose a combination of any two professions for each character they play. More options become available in a series of planned "chapter" updates to the main game.
It was a beautiful day in Cantha, a sunny 80 degrees on the coast of the Jade Sea. My fellow Luxons and I were eagerly awaiting our call to duty: To fight the Kurzicks. We waited and waited, but no opposing party would join us in our strangely coordinated war. We began to wonder if we had killed them all and could go home now.
This was not the case. From high upon a hill off in the distance, a goth kid was yelling at us. "Yo! We quit! You win!"
We all stood there dumbfounded. The Kurzicks just quit? How could this be? Soon, the meaning of these words set in and we all started celebrating our victory. The war was over and now we could get back to our lives.
I went back to my Guild Hall and had a big party with my guildies. We drank ourselves silly and had syncronized dance parties. This was fun.
Then, I realized that I had to go back to work, so I rejoined my fellow people in farming. This was not as fun.
Soon, farming became boring and I started doing quests and missions in order to save the world. This was the lamest of them all.
I hit rock bottom and as I sat in a Tavern at Droks, I overheard a man next to me talking to the barkeep. "Ya know, my life had a purpose once. I was a fighter! I took on those Luxons! Now look at me...Saving the world...What has my life come to?"
I picked up my mug and swaggered over to the gothyesque man, "You're right! My life too was once exciting and eventful! I would tell stories about how I took on entire mobs of Kurzicks and came out victorious! Now my greatest accomplishment is killing a Fire Imp!"
"I say, Luxon...We need to start a war," said the man.
I gasped! How simple it was! My life would have meaning again! I would have grand stories to tell again! "That's it! That's the solution!" And so, I punched the Kurzick man square in the face and ran away!
The next day, the Kurzicks came to my guild hall QQing about how I hit their friend in the face and told me to apologize. I mooned them and told them to go away.
The day after that, I was back in my AB armor and ready for action. All of my comrades came back to AB and the war raged once again!
End.

This game is AWESOME!!!
So many people on it, and you never know the true character of a person untill you take the timne to know them. I have met some pritty awsome people in the game, and I'm in their guild!
Enjoyed the Free-to-play ability it offered, aswell as the singularity to stay "alone" in the groups you join. No waiting for things to spawn so that you can kill it. Easy to start, hard to master. Too bad it holds too little communication.

Been playing only a few months. Recently ascended Sagra in Prophecies. Working on getting a little gold saved up to make a NF character.
One of my longest running games, played this for about a year and a half. Good stuff, nice people in my guild, but all things come to an end eventually with boredom and moving on.

My first MMO, still holds a soft spot in my heart.
Always great when you're bored, no monthly fee so you can log in whenever you want.

This is by far the best game i have ever played. You may not be able to do absolutely anything but the gameplay is great. sometimes i just get on to hang out with friends and to chat when i'm at home bored =)
I enjoyed playing this game. Loved the fact that I could head out in my own instance and use henchmen (so I could solo most of the time). PvP was tough against well organized teams.
