*Sigh* I have many GOOD memories of AO, the bad ones I try to forget
However is was the People of AO that kept me there then brought me back for a few months after Alien Invasion was brought out.

Remember you from back in the days. One of the more vocal MPs
Anarchy Online was great, but FunCom made poor decisions with all their expansions, perhaps with the exception of Notum Wars.
Shadowlands was a good expansion on its own, but it didn't belong in AO. It's a fantasy expansion in a sci-fi game and chopped a good piece of atmosphere away from AO.
Alien Invasion brought back the sci-fi, but brought no new playfields. Player cities was a good thing though.
Lost Eden brought battle station PvP which is a lot of fun. It gets old though, and again FC did not bring any new zones to the game.
Bottom line is that since Shadowlands, the only new zones added to the game is either empty zones strictly for player cities or raid zones you only go through in huge raid groups. The amount of new content brought to the game just isn't enough and isn't of good enough quality.

yeah definitely. Much as I couldn't stand AO at the end, I don't think I've ever played any game that long or that voraciously. The people that played were what kept it going so long for me and I made alot of really good friends (btw, everyone add my msn info! Xcelsius1@msn.com <---just realized that Xcelsius was the name of my MA )
The real shame is that from what I hear, it did get alot better and the new expansion pack looks pretty neat. But I just don't have the kind of time it takes to invest in it anymore :/ Game got me through some rough times though and as much as it backfired on me towards the end, it made me feel really good to be able to entertain people with my sillyness.
World of Warcraft was really great at first. You could hop in, play for an hour and then hop off. But then when they started adding the 43285342 hour instances and the PvP rewards, I decided I needed a permanent break there too
Damn, talking to you guys brings back alot of good memories. ALOT!
